U14 v Warminster
Westonbirt 59 - 7 Warminster
Tries: Michael (x2), Josh, Tom B (x2), Harvey, Tom H, Jonny (x2)
Con: Az (x7)
(Half Time: 31-7)
Despite the scoreline, this was a scrappy match to start the second half term of the rugby season.
Westonbirt started strongly with an early try from Michael, but there were a number of handling errors and some poor decision making that prevented the team from taking full control of the match. However, there were still some good phases of play, with strong runs from Harry G, which created tries for Josh and Harvey.
The line speed in defence was excellent and pushed back Warminster when they were in possession. However, some inaccurate passing led to an interception and a score against us.
The team responded well and pressured the line with Maxi and Az both coming close to scoring. However it was Tom H that eventually got the final try of the half to make the score 31-7 at half time.
The second half started slowly, until the team gained some control of the ball which allowed Jonny and Michael to run strongly at the line and get Westonbirt back on the scoreboard.
Overall, a pleasing win, but an indication that the team must keep building and sticking together when playing with and without the ball.
