Westonbirt’s U12 lacrosse teams put in a fantastic effort at the U12 South West Lacrosse Rally, demonstrating skill, resilience, and teamwork throughout the competition.

Westonbirt U12A started strong in the pool stage, securing three dominant victories: a 7-2 win over St Helen’s and St Katharine’s, an 11-1 triumph against Rendcomb, and a 7-1 victory over St Swithun’s. Their impressive performances earned them a place in the Championship bracket, where they continued their winning streak. They battled to a 6-5 win against QAS, followed by a 4-2 victory over Heathfield, another strong 5-1 result against St Swithun’s, and a thrilling 5-4 win over Downe House. Their outstanding run, however, came sadly to an end in the Championship quarter-finals, where they fought hard but were ultimately knocked out.

Westonbirt U12B also earned a spot in the Championship bracket, a great achievement in itself. However, they faced tough opposition in the next rounds and, despite their determination, were unable to progress further.

Both teams showed fantastic teamwork, sportsmanship, and perseverance throughout the tournament. The experience gained at this high-level competition will undoubtedly benefit the players as they continue to develop their skills. A great effort from all involved!
