Westonbirt needed to play some good rugby to beat a skilful and committed Marlborough team.

Strong carries and a dominant forward pack led to two tries early in the first half from Max G. Indy M was impressive in defence and with some good handling from Maxi and Xavier, Seb C made some impressive runs on the left wing.

Josh P scored the third try on the stroke of half time, with a series of powerful carries close to the line.

The second half was much the same with Westonbirt dominating the contact area. The first try of the half was scored by Az after some fine footwork, stepping off his right multiple times to beat defenders.

Marlborough then started to come back into the match with some good passing and played with width. But Westonbirt held firm with some solid defence. This then led to a turnover which released Maxi to score from distance.
