The U16’s travelling to Dauntseys School for their first away fixture of the season. In a game where Westonbirt took their opening chances, with some dynamic running and rucking, we reached half time 14 - 12 to Westonbirt.
The second half was thrilling with both teams working hard in attack to try and find scoring opportunities, with both defences showing why this was so close and evenly contested.
Dauntseys struck first taking the lead for the first time in the game.
The game then became an end to end match with both teams giving everything they had.
Westonbirt struck back twice putting them 5 points clear, with 10 minutes left.
After an injury break, Dauntseys took their chance well with a team try and conversion to go ahead by 2. This is how the score remained however, Westonbirt kept up the pressure right up to the final whistle and were denied by the Dauntseys defence who kicked the ball dead on their own 5 meter line. A thrilling game that keep the tension running until the final whistle.
